Update to my action plan

I have learned that in my district I will be doing DATA Teams on a regular basis to dicuss the pros and cons of lessons, along with addressing formative and summative assessment data.
I plan to use these team meetings to also address the individual progress of any ELL students placed in my class. I will also be working closly with the new Science Instructional Specialist on our campus to help with lesson modifications and FACTS that I'll use in the classroom.
I meet the team officially on Thursday so I will have a deeper knowledge then as to how I fit the mold.

I appreciate any and all feedback regarding my campus plan.

Week 4 Discussion Topic for A R Project

These are the two questions posed by our professors in Week 4. I look forward to the feedback from my answers to them.

1. What specific challenges do you forsee in implementing and sharing of your AR Project?

One major challenge for me is the fact that I am a new hire at a new district and new school meeting new people to work with. I am also hoping that being the "new kid on the block" does not keep me from being in the loop. I also need to complete more hours of the internship now because of the changes made this summer. I forsee a small challenge of learning the way this administration and science department run meetings and projects.

2. How do you plan to adress these challenges?

I have thought about this the entire summer and most importantly with this class.
First, I made it clear to my administration and dept chair that I want and need to be an active memeber of the team to help lead these programs. This school missed Exemplary status because of a select population and they know there is a fix to it. We now just have to tackle the work as a team and prove it works so we can model it for the district.
The next issue of learning how things are run is quite simple. I will sit back and listen and observe one or two meetings and give feedback as asked until I get a feel for who does what. However, I plan to come in with the skills I have learned and use those along with resources gained in studies to help with my feedback. I also have 4 yrs of classroom experience in two levels of science that should be a strong lead. I will not come in a take over but depicting a strong leadership quality is what I want to prtray for my future roles.

Week 3 Update

It has come later than expected however my week three of the project work was very full. I am not sure if all are aware but I recently had to move to a new district because my husband's company decided to move us to the Houston area. I am now with FBISD at Sugar Land Middle School.
I met the principal at the job fair in June and with no vacant positions she recommended me for an Instructional Specialist position at her campus in the Science Dept. I jumped at it but soon after she called me about a teaching position too. During my interview and at the first meeting there was a very positive repor and chemistry from this new administrator. Whether taking the leadership position or the teaching position I knew we could work well together. I did accept her offer of the science position and am very excited about it. I was called for an interview for the other however did not get it. I am fine with that since this is new ground for me to build a foundation on. However in the interview I was clear on the role I would like to take on soon in my career and she along with dept head and assoc. principal assured me I could be involved in many areas of leading. We discussed in detail the informatin I have provided in my Action Research Plan. Unfortunately until school begins since I am three hours away meeting about it more has come to a hault. I am very sure once I have met the rest of my colleagues this will change.
Please feel free to review detials of my plan that I will post and privide feedback for me to use in the future.
